If you ever need to make an insurance claim after a burglary, fire or flood, the first thing you’ll be asked for is a list of what you owned, with proof. AbodeX Home Inventory is a free Android app that helps you build that list now, room by room, while everything is still there.

Organised the way your home is
- Up to 5 homes (your house, a holiday home, a rental…), each with its rooms, each with its items.
- Room cards show the number of items and their value, and remind you which items still need photos.
- The home screen shows the total value of everything you’ve recorded.
Everything an insurer asks for
- Up to 20 photos per item, plus photos of the data sticker (the label with the model and serial number).
- Make, model, serial number, quantity, purchase price, purchase date, where you bought it and warranty expiry.
- Receipts and warranty documents: photograph the slip or attach the PDF invoice.
- No receipt for something old? Enter an estimated value instead. It is clearly marked as an estimate.
- Home photos and the address, with an exact map link.
Scan the label instead of typing
Photograph an appliance’s data sticker and AbodeX reads the make, model and serial number for you. You check them before anything is filled in. It works offline, on the phone.
Reports you can hand to your insurer
- A detailed PDF with a cover page, clickable contents and bookmarks to jump between rooms and items.
- A plain black-and-white PDF for printing.
- An Excel spreadsheet with all your photos and documents, neatly named, in one zip file.
- Export the whole home or just one room, and share it by email, WhatsApp or Drive, or save it to your phone.
A home inventory that stays private
- Everything is stored on your phone. No account, no cloud, no ads, no tracking.
- The app doesn’t even have internet access.
- Back up to Google Drive (or anywhere you choose) in one file, optionally protected with a password.
- Optional app lock with PIN and fingerprint.
