Effective date: 26 October 2026

App: AbodeX Home Inventory (Android, package com.aop.homeinventory)

Contact: onlineaop+abodex@gmail.com

AbodeX helps you record the things in your home (photos, receipts, makes, models, serial numbers and prices) so you have proof for an insurance claim. In short: everything stays on your phone. The app has no account, no servers, no ads and no analytics, and it does not have permission to use the internet.

1. Information you enter

Homes, rooms, items, prices, dates, notes, photos, data-sticker photos, receipts and warranty documents are stored only on your phone, in the app’s private storage. We (the developer) never receive any of it.

2. Camera and photos

  • Photos are taken with the app’s built-in camera, which asks for camera permission the first time. The camera is only active while that camera screen is open, and photos go straight into the app’s private storage, not your gallery. If you refuse the permission, the app uses your phone’s own camera app instead.
  • Choosing photos uses Android’s photo picker, so the app only sees the photos you pick, never your whole gallery.
  • Choosing a file (e.g. a PDF receipt) uses Android’s file picker, so the app only sees the files you pick.

3. Label scanning and name suggestions

Reading make, model and serial numbers from a data-sticker photo, and suggesting a name for an item, is done on your phone by Google ML Kit models built into the app. Images are not uploaded. ML Kit’s library normally sends Google anonymous usage statistics; this app removes the internet permission, so it cannot.

4. Location

If you tap “Use my location” on a home, the app asks for location permission and reads your position once. The coordinates are saved with that home (for a precise map link) on your phone only. The app never reads your location in the background or at any other time. You can clear it from the home at any time.

5. Backups, exports and sharing (only when you choose)

  • Backup: creates a single file with your inventory and photos, saved where you choose using Android’s file picker (for example your own Google Drive). You can protect it with a password (AES-256 encryption). We never see your backup, its password or its hint. A lost password cannot be recovered by anyone.
  • PDF and Excel exports: created on your phone and shared only through the app you pick (email, WhatsApp, Drive, etc.) or saved where you choose. What happens to them after that is governed by the app or service you sent them to.
  • Maps link: “Open in Maps” opens your maps app or browser with the home’s address or coordinates.

6. App lock

If you turn on app lock, your PIN is stored on the phone only as a salted cryptographic hash, never as the PIN itself. Fingerprint/face unlock is handled entirely by Android; the app never sees your biometric data.

7. Information we collect

None. The app has no account, no ads, no analytics and no crash reporting service, and no internet access. If you install it from Google Play, Google may collect information about installs and crashes as described in Google’s own privacy policy; we may see anonymous, aggregated statistics in the Play Console.

8. Deleting your information

Delete any home, room, item or photo in the app, or uninstall the app (or clear its data in Android settings) to delete everything stored by it on the phone. Backup and export files you saved elsewhere must be deleted from wherever you saved or sent them.

9. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at the same address with a new effective date.
