Sounds Serene Privacy

Effective date: 4 November 2026
App: Sounds Serene (Android, package com.aop.soundsserene)
Contact: onlineaop+soundsserene@gmail.com

Sounds Serene lets you mix calm sounds (rain, wind, ocean, birds, fire, café, noise and more) for sleep, focus, relaxing and meditation. In short: the app has no account and no servers of ours, and it doesn’t record anything. The only data that leaves your phone is what Google’s ad service collects to show ads, described in section 4.

1. What the app does on your phone

  • All sounds are built into the app and played on your phone. Nothing is streamed or downloaded.
  • The app never uses the microphone, camera, contacts, photos or your location.

2. Notifications

While sounds play, the app shows a quiet media notification (play, pause, stop and the sleep timer) so you can control it from the lock screen. On Android 13 and later the app asks for notification permission once, the first time you press play. The app works either way.

3. Information stored on your phone

  • Your mixes (which sounds, types and volumes), the last mix you played, and your settings.
  • Whether all-night mode is unlocked, and until when.

This is stored only in the app’s private storage on your phone; we (the developer) never receive it.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app is free. It shows small banner ads at the bottom of the screen (on the main sound screen only between 07:00 and 22:00, and never while a sleep timer or all-night mode is running) and an optional short ad you can choose to watch to unlock all-night mode. There are no pop-up ads and nothing ever interrupts your sounds. The ads are provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads and prevent fraud, Google may collect and process:

  • device identifiers such as the Android advertising ID,
  • your IP address and the approximate location derived from it,
  • information about the ads you see and tap, and basic app and device information (for example crash and performance data of the ad software).

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, you’re asked for consent before ads use your data for personalisation, using Google’s consent tool. You can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings > Privacy choices (ads). Anywhere, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s Android settings.

5. Links to other websites

The Resources screen opens articles on pranavoyage.com in a browser tab inside the app. Those links carry two labels (utm_source=soundsserene and utm_medium=app) so the website can count visits that came from the app; they don’t identify you. That website has its own privacy policy.

6. Information we collect

None. The app has no account, no analytics and no crash reporting service of ours, and we never receive your mixes or settings. We don’t sell any information. If you install the app from Google Play, Google may collect information about installs and crashes as described in Google’s own privacy policy; we may see anonymous, aggregated statistics in the Play Console.

7. Deleting your information

Delete any saved mix in the app, or uninstall the app (or clear its data in Android settings) to delete everything it stored on the phone.

8. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at the same address with a new effective date.
