App: LumiLeaf: Plant Light Meter (Android, package com.aop.lumileaf)
Contact: onlineaop+lumileaf@gmail.com
LumiLeaf uses your phone’s light sensor to estimate how much light a spot gets, and tells you whether it suits your plants. In short: there’s no account, and your readings never leave your phone. The app has no servers of ours. The only data that leaves your phone is what Google’s ad service collects to show ads, described in section 5.
All of this is stored only in the app’s private storage, which other apps can’t read, and we (the developer) never receive any of it. The app does not use Android cloud backup for this data.
Nothing is shared unless you choose to. When you tap Export CSV, the file is created on your phone and handed only to the app you pick (for example email or Google Drive). What happens to it after that is governed by that app or service.
The “Too dark?” card suggests grow lights. These links open in your web browser and may be affiliate links: if you buy something, we may earn a commission. The app itself sends nothing to the shop; the shop’s own privacy policy applies on its website.
The app is free and shows ads provided by Google AdMob: banner ads on some screens (never on the “Measure all day” screen) and, if you choose, a short video ad to unlock “Measure all day” or a CSV export. Ad requests tell Google the app is about houseplants and plant care (a description of the app, not of you). To show and measure ads and prevent fraud, Google may collect and process:
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, you’re asked for consent before ads use your data for personalisation, using Google’s consent tool. You can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy choices. Anywhere, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone’s Android settings.
How Google uses this information: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
None. The app has no account, no analytics and no crash reporting service of ours, and we never receive your readings, spots, logs or settings. We don’t sell any information. There are no in-app purchases. If you install the app from Google Play, Google may collect information about installs and crashes as described in Google’s own privacy policy; we may see anonymous, aggregated statistics in the Play Console.
Delete any spot or all-day log in the app, or uninstall the app (or clear its data in Android settings) to delete everything it stored on the phone. Files you exported must be deleted from wherever you saved or sent them.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Light readings and the daily light estimate (DLI) are estimates from a phone sensor, not laboratory measurements. Plant light needs are general guidance from published horticultural sources.
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at the same address with a new effective date.
